1、 The particularity of WEDM machining:

1. It is not necessary to manufacture tool electrodes with complex shapes, and any two-dimensional curved surface with straight lines as the generatrix can be machined.

2. Able to cut about 0.05mm narrow slit.

3. During the processing, not all the surplus materials are processed into scraps, which improves the utilization rate of energy and materials.

4. In the process of low speed WEDM with non recycling electrode wire, the electrode wire is constantly updated, which is conducive to improving the machining accuracy and reducing the surface roughness.

5. The cutting efficiency of medium wire cutting is generally 20~60mm2/min, and the height can reach 300mm 2/min; High machining precision± 0.0025 mm; The surface roughness is generally R&alpha 0 μ m, up to Rα 0.63 microns; The cutting thickness is generally 40~60mm, up to 400mm.

2、 Processing conditions of medium wire walking technology:

1. There must be a certain gap between the molybdenum wire and the machined surface of the workpiece, and the width of the gap depends on the working voltage, processing amount and other processing conditions.

2. When the WEDM machine tool is used for machining, it must be carried out in a liquid medium with a certain insulating property, such as kerosene, saponified oil, deionized water, etc. The high insulating property is required to facilitate the generation of pulse spark discharge. The liquid medium also has the function of removing the electric corrosion products in the gap and cooling the electrode. A certain gap shall be kept between the molybdenum wire and the machined surface of the workpiece. If the gap is too large, the voltage between the electrodes cannot break through the dielectric between the electrodes, and the electric spark discharge cannot be generated; If the gap is too small, it is easy to form a short circuit connection, and can not produce spark discharge.

3. Pulse power supply must be used, that is, spark discharge must be pulsed and intermittent, ti is pulse width, to is pulse interval, tp is pulse period. During the pulse interval, the gap medium is deionized so that the next pulse can breakdown discharge between the two poles.
